It started in the 90's, gargamel was brought online as a free mail / webhosting service offered to anyone who would ask. In the very beginning it was SunOS 4 and NT4 servers, Netscape's message platform. That was then,
gargamel serves as the repository of work I do, redo, and want to share.
I do a lot of custom monitoring solutions based on nagios or one of the many nagios extensions. I install an array of security services, mail and web proxies. With nagios I build smart solutions that will not monitor to alert you, but monitor to automatically resolve anything critical that failed, leaving a detailed log, so that when you report on the fires you put out during the night shift, you will be well rested and have good notes. I automate all key infrastructure services for a company so that you do not need to worry about it.
Some of my work is available upon request only to friends of gargamel.
No one can tell what the future holds. If I venture a guess I would say a fine tuned set of servers, all well documented and monitored, then your trend analysis will help alert you for what is to come.
